Dear Carnival Guest,
The parking facility at the cruise terminal has very limited capacity.* Please make plans to use alternate transportation that does not require parking. If driving (and parking at the port) is your only option, please be prepared to be directed to park at an offsite location operated by the City of Long Beach (not the pier).
We have secured a few extra spaces at an offsite facility and full details will be communicated at the cruise terminal. Here is what to expect:
Drop off luggage and traveling companion(s) at the cruise terminal.
Receive written directions to the offsite parking facility and a card for entry and identification as a Carnival guest.
Your boarding pass will be checked at the offsite parking facility (please keep it readily available/in hand).
Offsite parking will cost US$23, per day (including embarkation and debarkation days), and must be paid in advance, upon entry. A dedicated agent will be available to process your card payment (only card payments will be accepted). Parking accommodations will be in place for guests with mobility limitations.
Complimentary shuttles will bring you to the cruise terminal for embarkation and back to the parking facility at the end of your cruise.
The last shuttle will leave the parking facility 30 minutes prior to the final boarding time on your boarding pass.
The parking facility cannot accommodate:
Vehicles higher than 6 feet 6 inches.
Oversized vehicles (those utilizing more than one parking space).
Back-to-back guests (those sailing on consecutive voyages), as parking is only available for the length of a single voyage.
Please remember to adhere to your pre-selected Terminal Arrival Appointment. Guests who arrive before their chosen time will be asked to return later. Additionally, all guests must be at the cruise terminal by the final boarding time indicated on the boarding pass.
To improve your embarkation experience and avoid the hassle of parking at an offsite location, we highly recommend taking a ride share or getting dropped off for your cruise.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to welcoming you aboard for a fun and memorable cruise!
I WROTE THIS BEFORE I LEFT
In July of 2024 I did a 7 night tour with Backroads adventure travel. Here is a review and breakdown of that adventure!
Here are some pictures from the trip: Backroads 2024
For those of you not familiar, Backroads tours is a luxury adventure travel company that offers worldwide biking, hiking, adventure tours that incorporate top notch hotels and river cruises. In this instance, we were on AMA Waterways, the AMASonata.
To begin this trip, I took a private tour from Berlin with a stop in Dresden on the way to Prague. This took around 4.5 hours. You could also take the train or fly.
Once in Prague I checked into my hotel, Hotel Klarav a great hotel near Prague Castle. I always recommend this hotel first to people staying in Prague.
I stayed three nights in Prague, it ended up being one of my favorite cities in the world. Absolutely fantastic. While in Prague, I did a city tour on bike that included the Charles Bridge, Old town square with Tyn and St. Nicholas Churches. after riding around and seeing the sights, I met up with some of the other Backroads people to enjoy a local restaurant. The next day, a group of us did a walking tour that included Prague Castle! Ask me about Prague! Its full of adventure.
The first day of the Backroads trip departed the hotel first thing in the Morning. The bus ride was about 90 minutes, we arrived at Tittling, Germany around noon. Backroads had a beautiful lunch set up for us while they discussed safety and biking. After 26 miles of biking, we reached the ship in Vilshofen!
