great news from Allianz for customers who test positive for Covid-19 while traveling.
Part of the Trip Interruption benefit on Allianz policies covers, “Additional accommodation and transportation expenses if the interruption causes you to stay at your destination (or the location of the interruption) longer than originally planned. There is a per policy maximum of $250 per day for 5 days.”
Allianz announced it has made additional accommodations for customers who become ill from Covid-19 while traveling. The 5-day limit for trip interruption benefits has been removed! (The $250/day per policy limit up to the maximum trip interruption benefits listed in the policy remains in effect.)
For example, a client insures a trip cost of $5,000:
On WWTP the Trip Interruption benefit is up to 150% of the insured amount = $7,500 with a $250 daily limit per policy
A customer tests positive for Covid-19 while traveling and is unable to return to the U.S. as planned
The customer incurs lodging and transportation expenses (i.e. flight) to return home later than expected
The customer has up to a $7,500 Trip Interruption benefit to help with those expenses, up to a $250/day per policy. (The customer is no longer limited to just 5 days.)
Note: $7,500 is not a fixed amount. The client can claim reimbursement only for expenses for which he or she has receipts

Eight islands in 14 days on the beautiful Majestic Princess. We were impressed with the friendliness of the crew. Great and fun entertainment. I love game shows -mostly to watch-and they had the best venue for it in Princess Live. I want to do this fantastic itinerary again! St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Martinique, St. Lucia, Barbados, Trinidad, Aruba, Curaçao.
In March of 2024, I took a cruise aboard the Scarlet Lady, the first ship in the Virgin Voyages fleet, Here is my quick review of that cruise and ship!
