Last month I was on the Celebrity Equinox. As so often happens during travel, an amazing event occured. Let me explain.
Earlier this year, a stranger called, found me from google, extrememly disappointed. Royal Caribbean had cancelled his cruise due to some covid reports! He was already on the way to his cruise! He and his wife searched the web and saw I was open late, so he called. It was a saturday night around 7pm or so. We tried to find him a replacement cruise for the next day, but all the cruises had closed their bookings for that day because sailing was so close. Luckily, we found a cruise two days later on the Celebrity Edge, which I advised would probably be more suitable for him, than his Royal Caribbean cruise he was on. We booked him and said our goodbyes.
While I was on board the equinox, I was playing some poker, they had fast turbo tournaments and a few cash games, but really a game to just sit and chat with other people when not in a hand. The gentleman next to me and I got to talking about cruises and our professions. After I told him I was a travel agent, He began to tell me a story about how his cruise was cancelled in January and he randomally called a travel agent to help him. I asked, "whats your name?" He replied "Chris!" I was shocked. I replied, "Chris, that was me you called!!" we were both astonished and in disbelief. What were the chances!!! We spent the rest of the cruise playing cards at various games and discussing trips and travel. One of the most amazing experiences I have had on a cruise. Him and his wife were an absolute blast to talk with and play poker.
